Training on New Labour Codes

India's labour law landscape is undergoing one of the biggest transformations in decades. The new labour codes for HR professionals and businesses are expected to reshape how organizations manage wages, working conditions, social security, and industrial relations.

The Government of India has consolidated 29 existing labour laws into four new labour codes to simplify compliance and create a more transparent and structured system: (1) Code on Wages; (2) Industrial Relations Code; (3) Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code; (4) Social Security Code.

Key changes that will require attention include: New wage definitions impacting salary structures; Changes in working hours and overtime rules; Updated PF and social security contributions; New regulations pertaining to contract employees; New regulations around contract labour and gig workers; Revised compliance and documentation requirements.
